Parent Introduction
We all recognise the importance of being able to prepare a meal from scratch. Cooking helps build self esteem and encourages kids to eat sensibly.

Cooking at home combines learning with fun and is the perfect way to teach your kids all about the food they eat.

The kitchen can be an interesting place for children and even simple tasks like stirring a cake mixture, sieving flour, chopping up pieces of fruit or breaking eggs into a bowl can be made fun and exciting.

Cooking is also an excellent way to spend time with your children - not only that, but it’s educational too.

Learning to prepare food teaches children about where what we eat comes from and encourages them to try new things.

Being able to prepare and cook a meal for family or friends from scratch is a valuable life skill, so make sure that you educate your kids and teach them how to cook - even if it’s just the basics.

To get started, why not visit the recipes section of Phil’s Cooking Academy - it features 10 delicious recipes that you can try for yourself. You can even cook along with Phil step by step at home via a series of podcasts.

We are also offering one lucky school the chance to win a visit from Phil for the day along with Aldi larder supplies. If you think your local school would be interested in getting involved, please fill in the fields below and your local school will receive an email explaining what it’s all about.
